We're Hiring: Join the Community Care Team
We're adding two roles to our Community Care team. If you're ready to do the work of presence, we'd love to talk.
Community Care is the ministry of presence. On a Tuesday that means a hospital visit before the shift change; on a Thursday it is rerouting a pantry van around a flooded overpass; on most weeks it is dozens of small kindnesses the Gospel makes tangible in people's kitchens and waiting rooms. This fall we are adding two staff members to keep up with the work that has already arrived.
Two roles, one posture
The first is a Care Coordinator, full-time and hybrid, three days in the office and two in the field. You would carry a caseload of roughly forty households, keep the visitation calendar honest, and partner with chaplains at the two hospitals we serve. We are looking for someone with a pastoral instinct, steady written follow-up, and the patience to sit in a living room without reaching for a clipboard too early.
The second is a Pantry Logistics Lead, part-time and on-site, twenty hours that cluster around Friday intake and Saturday distribution. This role runs inventory, schedules the volunteer rotation, and owns the relationships with our three food-bank partners. If you love a tidy spreadsheet and an even tidier walk-in fridge, we would like to meet you.
Both roles report to Elena Rivera, begin in September, and come with benefits for the full-time position and a stipend for mileage on the part-time one. We are not looking for a seminary degree or a polished ministry résumé. We are looking for someone our neighbors will be glad to see at the door.
Presence is not a soft skill. It is the discipline of staying in the room after the easy part of the conversation is over.
How to put your name in
Send a short note and a résumé to careers@anchorofhope.org by the end of the month. A cover letter is welcome but not required — three honest paragraphs about why this work fits you right now will tell us more than a template ever could.
If you are unsure whether to apply, that is often a good sign. Write us anyway.
